About Me

Hi, I’m Matt—sales leader by day, snack-fetcher, scooter chaser, and bedtime negotiator by night. I’m a proud Gig Harbor resident, husband, dad of two, and guy just trying to keep up with his kids (and our dog, Lucy, who thinks she runs the house).

I was born in Edmonds and grew up between Mountlake Terrace and Liberty Lake on the east side of the state. I moved back over for college and graduated from the University of Washington. Go Dawgs! Around that time, I met my wife, and we’ve been married for just over nine years.

In 2023, coming out of the pandemic, we were ready for a change. Our oldest was about to start another year of preschool, and we wanted to put down roots somewhere that offered a great school system, a strong sense of community, and a better pace of life for raising our family. Gig Harbor checked every box.

We instantly fell in love with the natural beauty, the outdoor adventures right outside our door, and the small-town feel that still gives us easy access to everything we need (we’re actually closer to Costco now than we were in Seattle!). It’s been everything we hoped for and more.

Our oldest is now wrapping up first grade at Minter Creek, and our youngest starts kindergarten there this fall. Go Dolphins! We feel incredibly lucky to call this place home.

We’ve gotten involved fast. My wife joined the PTA, the kids do gymnastics at AGA, swim at Beard Swim Co, and play soccer with Harbor SC. I coached our son’s flag football team this spring.

Work-wise, I lead sales teams at early-stage startups. It’s a bit like building the plane while flying it, but I love the challenge. It’s taught me a lot about leadership, listening, and how to keep people rowing in the same direction.

When we get some down time (if that’s even a thing), you’ll usually find us outdoors—hiking, paddleboarding, playing in the yard, or hanging out with friends. I’m always ready with a dad joke and have been known to embarrass myself on the golf course.

Growing up, I was the kid who couldn’t sit still—class clown, full of energy. But I had teachers who believed in me, pushed me, and helped shape who I am today. Now, watching my own kids build those same relationships, I’m reminded every day how much schools and educators matter.
