People shouldn’t consistently hit dead ends trying to get the information they need about decisions affecting their kids. The board and leadership need to be open, honest, and accountable for their actions. Trust starts with transparency—and right now, that trust is broken. Families deserve leaders who own their decisions and communicate clearly, every step of the way.

Teachers Deserve Our Support

Our teachers are the backbone of our schools, yet too many are feeling burned out, undervalued, and silenced by policies like the district’s expression policy. We need to listen to them, address their concerns, and remove the barriers that make their jobs harder. It’s time to stop treating teachers as a resource to be stretched thin and start giving them the respect, tools, and support they need to succeed. When teachers are empowered, students thrive.

Every Student Should Feel Safe and Seen

No student should fall through the cracks. We need to address bullying and harassment head-on, ensuring every child feels safe and supported. At the same time, some schools are losing resources while others are gaining, creating disparities in opportunity. Families are also leaving the district due to leadership decisions, which harms our enrollment. Every student deserves a fair shot at success, no matter where they attend.

The Community Deserves a Seat at the Table

While I believe in leaving education to the educators, parents have valuable insights into what impacts their children’s learning. Changes like unnecessary administrator shifts, reallocating resources for unasked-for projects, or disrupting a child’s education should be addressed. Parents deserve to be heard and respected, not dismissed. Leadership should listen to those who know their kids best and ensure families have a real voice in decisions that affect their children’s future.
